“Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.”
-Emilie Buchwald

Singing, talking, rhyming and reading to young children builds important early literacy connections in their rapidly developing brains.
Typically, the library hosts a variety of STORY TIME classes for kids.  Story times help children develop language skills, a love for books, comfort in the library, and the important Six Pre-Reading Skills through rhymes, songs, movement, play, and the best books. Classes are free, fun, relaxed, and children of all abilities and attention spans are welcome.

The children’s area is open and full of goodies for you and your young one(s) to enjoy together. Pick-up an early literacy kit (“story time in a bag”) and a stack of fun new books to explore.

Thank you for singing, talking, reading to, and loving your sweet child(ren)!  Thank you for RAISING A READER!

The library offers programs and book clubs for students grades K – 6. It’s also a great location for youth to spend time, explore ideas, and technologies. It’s a perfect place to hang out afterschool and on weekends.

Check our summer programming to fuel learning and curiosity during those months outside of school.

Kids may be in the library without adult at ages 7 and up.

The library offers a variety of programs throughout the year for teens. All library teen programs are offered free of charge for preteens/teens ages 12 – 17. Join us for teen improv sessions, murder mysteries, book chats, teen parties, and a variety of special teen programs.

Starting March 2024, we will offer literacy supports for teens 13 and up. If your teen needs to improve their reading skill, this program is for you:
