The Winfield Arts & Humanities Council and the Winfield Public Library are partnering to host an art exhibit by the Kansas Art Guild. With installation in the two locations taking place Tuesday, September 28th, the works will be available starting Wednesday, Sept 29th for viewing. The art exhibit runs through November 10th. “We are pleased to showcase this exhibit to the community, and encourage our local artists to be inspired, motivated and challenged as they continue to exercise their artistic skills,” states Cheri Kindt-Gonzales, Executive Director of the Winfield Arts and Humanities Council.
This family-friendly exhibit will feature, between the library and Arts Council, a total of between 50 and 60 paintings by 19 talented Kansas artists with paintings in all mediums including oil, watercolor, acrylic, pencil, and pastels. “We are so looking forward to this new opportunity to exhibit at these two fine venues,” said Kay Rogers, Exhibits Chair for the Guild.
The Friends Community Art Guild was formed in May of 1977 with the first meeting held at Friends University. The Guild grew rapidly. Over the years, the Guild’s name and location changed several times, eventually becoming the Kansas Art Guild and settling at its current location at Marks Arts/Mary R. Koch Art Center on North Rock Road in Wichita.
