Storytimes:

Storytimes are offered in 6 week sessions with two sessions in the fall and two sessions in the spring.

Teddy Time: This infant lap-sit story time is for infants under 18 months of age and provides lots of adult-child interaction for babies and their parent or caregiver . Each story time has simple songs, action rhymes, and more to stimulate quickly growing brains! Teddy Time is offered on Mondays from 10:00 - 10:20 AM in 6 week sessions. Registration is required and group size is limited to ten adult-child partners.

Koala Kids: This toddler parent-child story time is for children 18-36 months of age. Sessions combine stories, songs, movement games, and more to help develop language skills! Koala Kids is offered on Wednesdays from 10:30 - 11 AM in 6 week sessions. Registration is required and group size is limited.

Panda Pals: This story time is specifically geared towards children 3-5 years (not yet in kindergarten). Each story time combines stories, songs, activities, crafts, and more. Koala Kids is offered on Tuesdays from 10:00-10:30 AM. Registration is required and group size is limited.

PJ Stories: Looking for some quality family time to spend with your children? PJ Stories is perfect for working parents! This evening storytime is offered 1-2 times per months and gives busy families a chance to wind down and enjoy songs, stories, games, and more with a bedtime theme. Generally offered the first and third Thursdays of the month from 7 - 7:30 PM (schedule may vary so call ahead or check the library calendar). Open to children of all ages, stories are geared towards pre-school through grade 2.

Wednesday morning storytimes are reserved for participating groups such as home day cares and preschools. If you would like to schedule a storytime for a licensed daycare or preschool, contact the Children's Services Librarian at 221-4470.

After--school @ your library

After-school @ your library: After-school programs are offered monthly for students in grades K-5 and include crafts, movies, stories, science experiments, snacks and more! Past programs include Mad Scientist Mondays, Mystery Mondays, and Goosebumps and Giggles. Call the library or check the library calendar for special programs being offered this month.

Summer Reading Program: Each June and July the Library offers the Summer Reading Program for children 12 years and under (a separate program is offered for teens 13-18). The program features a reading incentive program, weekly crafts, story times and guest performers, and a Summer Reader's Bash.

Educational Tours: Groups and classrooms can schedule an informational tour of the library. Many tours focus on using the library, the computer catalog, reference materials through group games. A story time can be included. Call 221-4470 for more information.

Special Programs: Winfield Public Library sponsors a variety of programs for children and families throughout the year. These may include creative writing contests, professional story tellers, and a variety of other events.
