With this year’s “Make a SPLASH”@ your library” theme, our summer is all about water! Throughout June and July, in addition to the summer reading club, we are offering weekly programs for children of all ages. These programs provide children opportunities to explore the ocean, learn to talk like pirates, perform water experiments, listen to fun tales about fishing, learn more about outdoor safety (Hooks, Ticks and Ivy), and create something each week to take home and enjoy.  Fun for all ages! “Polliwogs & Wiggle Worms” programs for babies, toddlers and preschoolers include puppet shows, crafts, movement songs, and interactive stories. “First Mates” adventure programs for children ages 6 - 11 include special guest presenters like Exploration Place, Singer/Songwriter Thad Beach, Farm Bureau of Cowley County, Wildlife and Parks and a variety of activities and crafts. “Beach Bums” programs for tweens and teens include a variety of hands-on projects and games. We conclude each week with movies on Fridays for all ages to enjoy, and we’ll wrap-up the summer with an outdoor summer splash party with the Winfield Fire Department as our special guests! Check out the event calendar for a weekly schedule!
